Don't bother looking up the meaning of the word 'Nomadier' in the dictionary. It does not exist. Then, why the name, what does it mean, what is the rationale behind naming a company using a term that does not exist, one may ask.
Well the reason is quite simple. We were looking for a name that would capture our zeal for adventure, our attitude towards life and more importantly what we have to offer. Hence was born Nomadier. Coined from the word 'Nomad', people who have no permanent home and who wander around with the changing seasons. Wouldn't naming it just as 'Nomads' or 'Nomadic' or some other form of the word Nomad have sufficed? That would be a reasonable question to ask. Well, it would have, in most cases. Not ours. We run away from the "routine". We dread the "done way of doing things". We reject the "rut". We needed something that represented us. Nomadier, sounded just right the first time it was coined during one of the many exhaustible sessions of brainstorming for a name that was US.

Nepal has a monsoonal two season year with the dry season from October to May and the wet season (monsoon) from June to September. From end of September / start of October to end of November is one of the best times to visit. The vegetation is lush after the rains of the monsoon and the air is clean and fresh. The next best time to visit is March to May at the end of the winter season. It can be a little dusty at this time but the weather is warm and pleasant and its’ a great time to see many wildflowers in bloom. December is still good in terms of climate and visibility, but can be chilly particularly at higher altitudes as well as in the evening in Kathmandu. May and early June can be very hot and uncomfortable and mid June to September can be cloudy with poor visibility and muddy trails although some treks (rainshadow treks) can still be undertaken even during the monsoon.
Trekking the standard routes in the Solo-Khumbhu region is a pleasant experience anytime of the year, with each season offering a specific attraction. However for long trekking expeditions at higher altitudes and climbing expeditions, the time from October to mid - December is the best, followed by March to May. During winter and monsoon some areas are nearly inaccessible and the risks are higher. The October season offers a stunning bright blue sky and clear spectacular views. The spring time too has its charm but the distant views are often hazy or obscured by clouds. Monsoon provides the most variety with its astounding cloud formations and amazing light effects. The local festivals during this season add to the charisma of the place.

Tea Lodges are normally Spartan in furnishing. The rooms are small and accommodate two wooden beds of 6’ x 3’. The rooms are not pre-heated and do not offer any other wellappointed facilities. At higher altitudes, these lodges do not have electricity either. These lodges do not have an attached toilet and bathroom area. These lodges only have shared washing and toilet facilities. Hot water for bath and refreshing yourself will be available at extra cost, which will be directly payable by the Guest to the Tea Lodge owner. For Mountaineering Expeditions you will also have to spend certain nights in tents in your sleeping bag (as per the itinerary).

Depending upon the package you choose, accommodation would be provided in ‘A’ Category hotel in Leh or best available tented accommodation / high altitude alpine trekking tents or village houses. If you prefer a solo room, during your stay in an A Category hotel in Leh, you may let us know. You would be required to pay an extra single supplement charge as mentioned in the quotation. We would make the arrangements accordingly. For odd-sized groups, one person will have to share the room with a member of another group of similar sex.
During your stay at a ‘A’ Category hotel in Leh, your meals would consist of buffet – breakfast and dinner. While on drives, treks and sight seeing, we will offer packed lunch. During your stay in high altitude alpine tents, an accompanying cook will prepare the food.
In Leh, only BSNL, Aircel and Airtel have their networks. Guests with post-paid mobile connections from one of the mentioned operators can use mobile phones in this region. The other option is to buy a pre-paid mobile connection from these operators from Srinagar / Jammu. No data services are available anywhere in Ladakh. Also, Leh is still in the early days of the communications revolution, and some places might offer the Internet services of BSNL. We suggest you indicate to your near and dear ones that you would be out of touch from time to time.
